How to reduce cholestrol

can anybody suggest how to lower the cholesterol level. I have a cholesterol level of 298 and ldl 181 with Triglyceride 350. I have been doing regular expercise and stopped having fried food. Stopped alcohol also but still the levels are high.


I have been eating oats as will as using olive oil at home. I dont want to have medication.


Please suggest.

Dear Suresh,


Cholestrol can sometimes be genetic also and that may be little hard to control. Please check the Lipid profile of your parents and if they are also having high cholesterol, Show to some doctor.


Medication are available and they are managed easily.

yes many times high cholesterol problem   is hereditary  only medicine can cure it. Visit cardiologist for better control. but don't stop exercise as it helps in many ways to keep our body fit.

Select whole grains
Stock up on fruits and vegetables
Eat foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids
Do you smoke? Smoking is also a big factor in high cholesterol.

Doing simple exercise like walking, running, swimming is helps to reduce the unwanted cholesterol in your body.

avoid red meat and high cholesterol food 

Avoid trans fats

Consume fewer saturated fats

Consume more monounsaturated fats

Eat more polyunsaturated fats

Eat more soluble fiber

Exercise regularly
